4 of the Greatest Pop Albums of 2017 So-far

While television shows and movies are my main fire, it's been hard to dismiss the sheer number of amazing pop music that's come out this year. I am more of a rock'n' roll man myself, however many of these tricky tunes have really caught my ear. Lots of pop music is most prominent female singers have recently encountered dramatic style variations. These have often been thanks to personal struggles, like recognizing signs he is cheating, overcoming depression, or even processing suspicions about the existing political climate.

1) Melodrama -- Lorde

A total departure from her previous record, Lorde's"Melodrama" is a record researching the aftermath of a new split. Although she might not have observed signs he's cheating, it turned out to be a painful transition for her all the same. The record itself explores many experimental, yet even industrial noises, to illustrate the loneliness that comes along with being just single. Before his death, David Bowie himself has stated that Lorde had been the future of pop music, also it shows.

2) Rainbow -- Kesha

Even if you aren't well-acquainted with pop music, then you may possibly have heard about Kesha's lawsuit against Dr. Luke, in addition to her accusations against him. "Rainbow" marks Kesha's successful return to the music industry using a record that truly showcases her vocal and songwriting abilities, as well as her fresh country-esque design.

3) Lust for Life -- Lana Del Rey

In just a couple of short years, Lana Del Rey has recently released four albums and one EP with brand new material. "Lust for Life" is her latest release and conveys quite a different tone in her prior work. While she is mostly known for creating somber ballads that manage breakups, hints he is cheating, and personal melancholy, her new album marks a step in a more favorable leadership. These songs have exactly the same dreamy quality that her fans have come to expect, with lyrics that are considerably more uplifting.

4) Witness -- Katy PerryKaty Perry's dramatic, short haircut has been a hint that this album will be radically different.

Katyperry's newest album,"Witness", was marketed as"purposeful pop" with its very first single,"Chained to the Rhythm." As the remaining music didn't meet the deadline, they are undoubtedly interesting and different from anything else Katy's done. She collaborated with Purity Ring, an experimental electronic duo, to build a few of the more introspective tracks. Perhaps the most unique quality about this album is that while Katy's singles are inclined to be charttoppers, not many of those songs on"Witness" are actually radio friendly.

There are plenty of other new releases to look forward to this past year, too.
